Haley Barnes

An American transplant, I came to Scotland in 2019 to intern with the Scottish Parliament. While I relished the opportunity to work directly with decisionmakers, I missed the reprieve of a day spent with data: scouring datasets, exploring variable relationships, and creating a nice graph.

I returned to Scotland in 2022, commencing an MSc in Social Research. After graduating with distinction, I joined the Diffley Partnership, where I convert ideas into research tools and data into insights.

Whether analysing client feedback or assessing disparities in health, I enjoy leveraging many voices into smart choices. In that remit, I take particular pride in displaying findings in unique and compelling ways, including but not limited to words, graphs, and once – a game of Jenga.
